Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make more than one project at a workshop? Because of time constraints and the nature of how our DIY workshops run, we limit each person to one project at a time during a scheduled workshop.  We are always adding more dates and workshop projects, please check back with us often to schedule!

Can I bring a friend with me if they are not working on a project? Unfortunately, because of a limited amount of seating and fire code, we are unable to admit any person who has not reserved a spot in our workshop. 

What are the prices for a workshop? Prices for each workshop are based on the type of workshop being offered. Typically, prices range in price from $40 to $75 depending on the options you choose.

Do I have to pick my project ahead of time? Yes. Project selection and customization information for your project is required at the time of booking on our on-line registration form. Please be sure to double-check your spelling and information to ensure your project stencil (for wood workshops) and materials will be ready for you at the start of your workshop.

Do you offer refunds? Due to the custom nature of our workshops, registration fees are non-refundable. When you register for a project you agree to these terms and conditions which protects the seller from chargebacks.  

Do I need to tell you in advance what colors and stain I want to use on a wood project?   No, we have a wide variety of paint colors and stains to choose from. When you arrive we will show you examples of different color palettes to help you decide which paints and stains will look the best in your home.

How long does a workshop last? The length of each workshop depends on the type of workshop scheduled. The typical workshop lasts 2 hours.

Do I need to be crafty or artistically talented to take a workshop? Definitely NOT! Our workshops provide guided instruction in a relaxed environment. Just bring your DIY attitude and a willingness to learn and you will create a project you will be proud of!

Can I bring my own snacks or drinks? 
You may bring a personal packaged snack or beverage of choice. Must be 21+ to consume beer or wine. No bagged ice(we do not have a freezer for use.)

Can I bring my own beer or wine? Yes! But, beer and wine only please...no hard liquor. Beer and Wine is only permitted at over 18 adult workshops.  If you or the group you are with are consuming beer or wine, we ask that you are responsible and have a designated driver on hand. We are not responsible or liable.

❄️Inclement Weather Policy⛈️

At Hammer & Stain, the safety of our makers and staff is our top priority. As a DIY workshop that hosts public classes, we recognize that winter storms, tornadoes and other inclement weather conditions may impact our scheduled events.

☃️Class Cancellation and Rescheduling:
-If it is deemed unsafe for our makers or staff to travel to the workshop, the class will be cancelled and rescheduled for a future date.
-In the event of a cancellation, customers will be notified via email or text. No phone calls will be made.
-It is the responsibility of the maker to check their email/phone for updates regarding the rescheduled class date and time.
We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather. You agree to these terms when registering. Protecting our small business from fraudulent charge backs.

🌪️Options for Rescheduled Classes:
-If you are unable to attend the rescheduled class, you may choose to complete your project during an open paint session or take home kit. Please call us to schedule a time that works within our availability.
-No refunds will be given if you choose not to attend the rescheduled class

☔️Private Parties & Inclement Weather:

-Private parties may also be rescheduled if bad weather occurs on the day of the party. This will happen at the discretion of Management general 24 hours prior to event. Party will automatically reschedule for the next business day, when available or you will be offered a take home kit if cancellation is deemed necessary by staff. If host wishes to cancel prior to 24 hours before event, you will be subject to re-booking fee and availability within 14 days of original date.
